Alfalfa

Alfalfa

Alfalfa is the most important forage legume in the US. It is highly valued for its use as animal feed and its ability to provide biologically fixed nitrogen to subsequent crops in rotation. The Sustainable Cropping Systems Lab studies many aspects of alfalfa production including cultivar performance, fertility, pest control, and winter survival. Below are links to previous and current research on alfalfa.
